Course update
Kieran has recently sent out a communique giving an excellent summary of what changes will be coming to the course when the Council commence their sewerage works. If you haven’t read it make time to find it and read it.
Council have also provided some information on the notice board outside the Pro Shop. There will also be information on this board to update members on the current temporary local rules in place. Take the time to check these rules before you play as there will be many changes over the coming months.
There will also be an Extraordinary General Meeting at the Gosford Golf Club on the 7th April 2026 at 7 PM. There will be a further course update at this meeting and a chance to ask questions.
Holes in play at the moment. 1, 2(par 5), 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11a(par3), 11b, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18. Hole 11a will be scored on the card as hole 14. This will change in coming weeks when Council commence their work.
Hole 11a has a penalty area at the back of the green. If your ball is in the penalty area you can ball the ball as it lies or play from the nearest drop zone.
The Bunya nuts have stopped falling so the rule allowing relief under the Bunya trees has been withdrawn.
With the new holes being introduced and the council works about to commence we will continue with preferred lies thru the green for some time.
Code of Conduct
The Board is always receptive to ideas and constructive criticism but will not tolerate criticism of our employees especially when the criticism is posted on Facebook or other social media. Members of our club are expected to do their best to encourage people to play at our course and not discourage golfers. I accept our course is not at its best at the present time, but the board, staff and exceptional volunteers are working hard to improve the course and we expect our members to support us in these endeavours.
Our constitution includes a Code of Conduct that all members and guests must abide by. Please take some time to read the code of conduct for the course and club facilities.

Rule changes
The Bunya Nuts have stopped falling so the relief for balls laying under Bunya trees has been withdrawn.
Hole 11a is in play and a penalty area lies behind the green. You may play the ball as it lies in the penalty area or play from within two club lengths of the drop zones provided with a one shot penalty.
Nearest the Pin
The 12th hole is an Eagles nest only and no nearest the pin will be awarded on this hole. Nearest the pins will be awarded on hole 8 and 11a. Please record on the app.
Encourage Shield
Our juniors continue to impress and placed a very close second in this year’s event. One more result and we would have won. Congratulations to the team and special thanks to Richard Brien who managed the team again this year. Thanks Richard.
I look forward to this year as I believe our juniors will have a big year and succeed in many district events.
Senior Pennants
We play our last game for 2026 at Kooindah this week. We have had a very successful year, and all our teams have done very well. Our A grade and B grade led for much of the year, but a few close results went against us over the past two weeks. We were also leading the Sterling Shield for much of the year.
Well done to all our players and we look forward to 2027.
