Thank you to Bob Thomas, Gosford Club Captain, for his below update on our Gosford senior team’s recent pennants match. Our team battled hard, however the matches were called off when the opposition reached the four 1/2 wins needed to take the prize.
Earlier this week, we travelled to Castle Hill Country Club to play Monash in the second round of the regional finals. What a great course and fantastic weather. The course was in top condition and I understand it hasn’t received as much rain as many other courses in the area. If you ever get the chance to play there don’t miss the opportunity.
Our boys played strong and were in the contest for much of the day. Monash lifted their game to new heights on the back nine and once they reached the four ½ wins, they had won the match.
Well done to the boys for a great year and thanks for your support. Special thanks to Paul Edwards and George Lee who stepped up when we needed them. Also Martin Gallagher and his committee who can be extremely proud of this event.
I look forward to next year and hope to get a few games myself.
