Gosford started its 2023 Sterland Shield defence with its first pennant match against Everglades at Magenta Shore Golf club last week. It was hot and the wind was blowing and most of us were on the course for in excess of five hours. Luckily though this year I had introduced a pre season fitness program and our team of athletes handled the difficult conditions very well.
A grade won 5 to 1, B grade 3 to 1 and C grade finished off a great day with a win 3 ½ to ½
